ASE-24 Observing List for Beginners
The Society has produced a list of objects with observing notes to give beginners in astronomy with a small telescope a starting point with which to begin their journey.
The Society publishes its Annual Reports and Accounts. This report is required by the Constitution to be presented at the Annual General Meeting. This report is also required by the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations to be submitted to the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).
As the website is basically our Journal now, these PDF archives will be created each year for all website posts:
- Posts Archive 2021 Jul – Dec
- Posts Archive 2021 Jan – Jun
- Posts Archive 2020 Jul – Dec
- Posts Archive 2020 Jan – Jun
- Posts Archive 2019
- Posts Archive 2018
The Society’s Journal appeared three or four times each year from 1980 to 2010. These can be found in the Members area of the website.
In 2013 it became an online blog which is no longer updated. Journal entries are also archived on the Old Journal Archive page. The Journal became little more than the monthly Sky Diary which is now hosted on this website.
We have created three kits for children and other beginner astronomers:
- Sundial for 55° latitude
- Planisphere for 55° northern latitude
- Seasonal star charts with log of constellations learnt
