Talk by Grant Miller,  Zooniverse Project Manager at the University of Oxford.

A recovering astrophysicist, Grant is now the communications lead and project manager for the Zooniverse, the world’s largest and most popular citizen science platform. Based at the University of Oxford, they initially started with a single project classifying millions of galaxies, but have since expanded to include projects from an extremely diverse range of disciplines including ecology, climatology, biomedical sciences, and the humanities. Grant will present a brief history of the Zooniverse, outline the exciting work they are doing in the field of exoplanet discovery via the Planet Hunters project, and talk about plans to tackle the citizen science issues of the future via methods such as machine learning and more efficient use of the crowd.
