After the success of our last Telescope Help Shop, we are running another one. This is aimed at beginners who have a telescope they maybe haven’t used very much – perhaps they received it as a Christmas present. We will help you get started with it and show you the basics of how to use it. All the details are in the Eventbrite listing.

This is part of our 4-Steps to the Stars programme and maybe useful for anyone who has a new telescope for Christmas – see our Telescope Buying Guide.

Places are limited and tickets are going fast already so register today. ASE members get in free and there is a token amount of £2 for non-members.

There will be experienced amateur astronomers around to help you get the most out of your new telescope. We’ll help you learn how to use it and give you some suggestions of what to observe too. If skies are clear the Moon should be visible to practice on.

Parking is available round the back of the church building. Follow the signs to David Lloyd and turn left immediately. Enter the Gyle Hall through the gate at the rear of the church – see below. There will be signs outside.

Bring your new telescope along if you are able, but be aware that our insurance does not cover the telescope.
