Talk by Lyn Smith

Lyn Smith is the current Director of the BAA Solar Section and she will take us on a journey through the solar atmosphere or Chromosphere, viewed best through the H-alpha line at the red end of the spectrum and thus visually produces a “red Sun”. Not only are we going to look at the usual features found in the Chromosphere, prominences, filaments and flares, but we are going to look in more detail at all the features the more advanced observer can find there and also provide a challenge for imagers looking for a new project.

ASE members will join via Zoom and visitors are welcome to join us on our YouTube channel.
