Exploring Astronomy and Space Through Philately – an introduction
17 September 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm BST
Talk by Katrin Raynor-Evans
The aim of the presentation is to provide the audience with an introduction on the topic of astronomy and space celebrated through philately including the world’s first astronomy stamps, the global spread of astronomy on stamps and astronomy/space discoveries and achievements that have appeared on philatelic material including postmarks and first day covers. Philately provides a colourful, creative and imaginative way to learn and understand about astronomy and space.
