Choosing a telescope

We have many new members and people wanting to get into astronomy as well as more experienced amateurs wanting to upgrade and do more advanced work. “What telescope should I get?” There is no one right answer and you’ll get as many answers as there are astronomers. So we’ll “attempt” to outline the issues involved in buying a telescope, the pros and cons of different types of kit, discuss the sorts of activities you might want to take part in. Hopefully by the end you’ll be in a better position to decide for yourself – or you may just have even more questions… Either way we’ll do our best to help and we can always be contacted with specific questions.
