Image of the Year 2025 Winner

At our meeting on Friday 9 January, the winner of our annual competition, as voted for by our members, was announced by David Brett. The prize went to Rob Parsons for his amazing image of a 130,000 km high prominence taken in H-alpha. We have been amazed by Rob’s solar images for quite some time and he is a worthy winner.

Congratulations to all who entered – there were 27 entries. The standard of images in our Society has increased dramatically and the number of people taking part is also much higher. Here are the runners up – also excellent images:
