Outgoing President, Mark Phillips (left) presents new President, Neil Martin with the presidential medal.

We had our AGM on Friday and elected a new President and Council. As outgoing President, Mark Phillips said in his remarks that the ASE is in the best shape ever of its 100+ year history.

With our biggest membership ever, our remote telescope ASERO operating in Spain, 10 ASE projects taking off, successful Centenary celebrations, and more people than ever actively taking part, the ASE is going from strength to strength. We are a 24×7 Society with people interacting, observing and talking about astronomy non-stop, in-person and on our many WhatsApp groups.

The new Council consists of:

  • Neil Martin, President
  • Peter Black, Vice-President
  • Nigel Goodman, Vice-President
  • Alan Ellis, Treasurer
  • Mark Phillips, Secretary

Councillors:

  • David Brett
  • Mike Christie
  • Pat Devine
  • Will Joy
  • Ramsay McIver
  • April Robertson
  • Ian A Smith
  • Radim Stano (remote)
  • Chris Tunnah
