On 6th Feb, for National Astronomy Week, some of our members took 3 large Dobsonian telescopes and a Seestar to the promenande at Portobello in Edinburgh. More than 200 people turned up to look at the Moon.
Andrew Farrow organised the event and Catherine Heymans informed the local school about it. So quite a large number of families appeared and had an amazing time. As one of our members said: “So many ways to say Wow!”. One of the visitors was quoted as saying: “…best school night ever”.
We’ll be back.
