Oh yes! Just look at this video created by very talented ASE member, Eros Tang. He is in the very centre of Edinburgh too and using narrowband filters, which helps to cut out light pollution, has imaged some of the most beautiful objects in the night sky. His processing skills just get better every year too.

Conventional wisdom says you need dark skies and good seeing to get the best deep sky images, preferably up a mountain. Edinburgh is not known for any of these! But if you know what you’re doing then it is possible to get some amazing results. Eros clearly knows!

When you consider that we fight against the Scottish weather, light pollution, Starlink satellite infection, poor seeing and transparency, twilit summer and frozen winter nights, this is just an amazing achievement. Congratulations again Eros.
