The Astronomical Society of Edinburgh

The Society is a registered Scottish Charity SC022968. The charitable object is to advance the education of the public about the science of astronomy and to promote astronomical research chiefly in Edinburgh and its neighbourhood. In furtherance thereof:

  • (a) to circulate information on astronomical matters by the publication of articles, books etc;
  • (b) to encourage astronomical study and observation; and
  • (c) to increase popular interest in astronomy.
