Whirlpool Galaxy or M51 (Ian Smith)
Skywatcher 200p, NEQ6 mount, UV/IR Cut filter, Baader MPCC M3 coma corrector, ASI294MC Pro at -20C.
NINA Observatory Software.
35 x 300 second (2 hours 55 minutes) at Gain 121, Offset 30, dithering every 3rd frame, 40 dark frames, 40 flat fields, 40 dark flat frames.
Processed in APP, Topaz de-noise and Photoshop.
12th/13th April 2021.

M51 (Ramsay McIver)
Takahashi FSQ-106ED with a Tak x 1.6 adaptor and a Canon x 1.4 on a Celestron AVX unguided with a Canon Ra. 31 x 30s @ ISO 6400 and 25 x 15s @ ISO 25600 stacked in APP and processed in Photoshop. No flats or darks were used to make this image. I think using the Tak 1.6 and the Canon 1.4 is just about taking the magnification as far as I can go, similar to a 1187mm lens on a FF camera.

Imaged using 102 Ed and reducer which perhaps wasn’t best for the target. As it is I heavily cropped the image.

So back to an old favourite last night, M51, using my 6″ Classical Cassegrain ( which is not really meant for DSO’s, but in the absence of planets…. ). Continuing to learn the use of NINA for acquisition. Guiding last night was superb, around 0.5 arc seconds. Stack of 41 x 180 secs at 121 gain and 20 offset. Sensor at -15 C
