We are sorry to inform members of the death of Frank Howie who died on 2nd March after a long illness. He was a delightful man and a long standing member of the ASE and served for a period on the Committee.

From the Order of Service at his funeral which took place on Friday 13th March at Mortonhall Crematorium, Pentland Chapel:

Frank will be remembered as an intelligent, kind, thoughtful man who succeeded in many of the things he set out to achieve in his life.  He had many and varied interests including astronomy, photography, hill walking, converting camper vans to pursue his love of travel and many more. But first and foremost he was a family man, always putting them first and including them in his many adventures.

He remains in the memories of the people he leaves behind.
