On Saturday 28th August you may have a chance to see and hear something special. Staff Sargeant Tom McKay, MBE, (otherwise known as 'Tam the Gun') is arranging an exhibition on the history of the One O'clock Gun in the Castle. Although the exhibition itself will not open until early next year, he has planned a special day of events at the Calton Hill on August 28th. Hopefully this will include the Lowland Gunners firing a gun at the hill simultaneously with the Castle time gun. A collection will be taken for N.C.H. Action For Children.
The Observatory will be open during the day with a small exhibition about the Gun. I look forward to seeing many people there.
