Membership
Anyone interested in astronomy is eligible for membership. Application forms and further information may be obtained from the Secretary or downloaded as a PDF file.
The Society holds lecture meetings throughout the year - normally the first Friday of each month. Members and beginners of all ages are encouraged to participate in the Society's activities.
Subscriptions
The annual subscription is payable on the 1st of October, the rate being determined by the Council. Currently, the subscription for the full session is £30 (£15 for concessions). In order to encourage prompt payment we offer a discount to £25 (£12) for members paying by the December meeting. New members joining after the AGM in March will pay only £5 (with no further reductions). Subscriptions may be paid by Standing Order to the Society's bank account, or by cash or cheque to the Treasurer. Standing order details may be obtained from the Treasurer.
Journal
The Society publishes a Journal, usually quarterly. It is free to members, and contains articles of general astronomical interest, plus members' observing reports. The Society's Journal is available on-line.
