The Astronomical Society of Edinburgh

Imaging Group

The ASE Imaging Group re-formed in February 2010 and is open to all members of the Astronomical Society of Edinburgh, from complete novices to seasoned astronomers. Its main aim is to provide an informal and social setting for members to enjoy the hobby, and to learn from the knowledge and experience of others.

So far, three meetings were held upstairs at the Juniper Green Village Hall (see meetings pages for venue details). If the weather is clear and the sky dark we can adjourn to a nearby park to observe and make use of our imaging equipment. The group now takes a summer break and will meet again in September, by when more permanent arrangements should be known.

The current "challenge" for imagers is to capture an Iridium flare or the International Space Station.

Pictures are passed around and discussions can be held in a Flickr group, which is viewable by the public.
